A step by step approach to fitting
This procedure will take some practice, so be patient!
It is worth spending the time to go through this process and practise.? After a while you will be able to fit a Rucksack in no time at all (with minimal adjustments).
- The general rule of thumb, when fitting a Rucksack, is to ensure that the fit is as close to the body as possible.
- The Hipbelt must sit on the hips, and not around the waist.
- The top of the Rucksack should be positioned so that it is line with the top of your neck.
- When fitted correctly, the Rucksack should not slip or move around, this will cause major discomfort when walking, due to the load shifting.
- Place the Rucksack on your back, putting your arms through the shoulder straps.
- Place the Hipbelt around the hips and fasten loosely ? do not tighten at this stage.
- Adjust the load ? bearing straps, so that the sack is in such a position, that the Hipbelt is sitting on the hips.
- Adjust the tension straps to bring the top of the sack in towards the back of the shoulders / neck.
- Tighten Hipbelt
- Make any further ?fine tuning? adjustments to ensure comfort, and to make sure that the sack is secure and does not slip around.
